We are a family-owned vineyard and winery located in Paso Robles, California. Our focus on quality begins in the vineyard, with low yields to produce intense flavors. All the fruit is hand harvested and immediately sorted and processed at our estate winery while the fruit is still cold and fresh. The wines are then thoughtfully processed and aged to bring out the best the varietal has to offer. We strive to deliver the highest quality wines at affordable prices so you can enjoy them with friends and family daily.
The genesis of the wine story for Pear Valley began in the late 60’s when owner Tom Maas was stationed on an army base in Germany…in the midst of a vineyard. Here he learned to love both wine and the vineyard. Decades later, when the kids were grown and responsibilities waned, he was free to pursue his dream of owning and living in a vineyard. It started with 20 acres in 1999. Kathleen now owns 113 acres where she and her staff dedicate their energy and resources to providing the best environment for growing premium grapes. The vineyards are operated with sustainable farming practices to ensure the best fruit possible.
The next phase of the dream began in the Spring of 2008 when they broke ground on a 14,000 square foot winery and 5,000 square foot tasting room. Continuing the dedication to providing the best environment possible, the winery and tasting room were designed in partnership with PG&E through their “Savings By Design” program to design buildings that are energy efficient and environmentally sound.
Deep golden in color and leading with aromas of custard with preserved lemon, flint, crushed pineapple, and orange blossom honey. On the palate the wine strikes a perfect balance between acidity, weight, and concentration. Flavors of Bartlett pear, baked spiced apple, and creme anglaise are up front with English toffee on the finish.
